The Journey Begins On October 29, 2015 I posted the picture of the Treasury (above) with the headline "Coming Soon . . . Petra." Yes, it has taken me three months (it is mid-January) to get back around to finishing the Petra post. The demands of dissertation research/writing, family obligations, and the last few items on the "Must Do: Arabian Peninsula" list have kept me busy. It has been intense but before I set off on my next adventure I had to finish posting a few pics from one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. In fact, in my 2015 holiday email to family and friends, Petra won the "most amazing trip/visit" of the year. The sad truth is these pictures simply cannot do justice to the stunning beauty and awe-inspiring craftsmanship seen throughout Petra. However, if this small glimpse intrigues you, then you must make a point to visit Petra at some time in your life. It will be worth it. I promise.
