Since we never truly have "winter" in Okinawa, or at least it never dips below freezing, spring has already sprung even though it is only February. Sakura are radiant shades of deep pink, cotton candy pink, pale pink, and white. These cherry blossoms were capture at Nakijin Castle on the Nago peninsula.

Travel for many stopped in 2020. My normal over-booked work and travel schedule gave way to a new reality. I had not updated my "travel blog" since 2018 (which mostly consisted of pictures) because there just didn't seem to be the time. (Plus, a whole range of social media platforms allow for easy picture sharing conducive to real-time interaction so no need to re-invent the wheel.)
Instead, I am shifting the focus of "Life" to one of inner travel and discovery. I am also forcing myself to post directly to the site to break a horrible habit I have developed, in part due to the PhD. I am a perfectionist. I will write, edit, revise, re-work, write again, revise some more, edit, edit, edit until I have a piece of writing I despise so much I want to quit. (I am doing the editing thing, right now...) No more. Not here. When the mood strikes, I will post one picture or one thought for the day; something that captures where I am in either my inner or external journey. At the end of 2021, I hope to have discovered something new about myself and the world. Enjoy. |
